Senary, Dore
(1905-80)
   American film producer. Born in Newark, New Jersey, he worked as a newspa-perman and stage actor, director and writer. Later he wrote screenplays. In 1938 he joined MGM, winning an Academy Award for Boys Town. Later, he was in charge of low-budget productions. Eventually he became head of RKO. Subsequently he wrote plays for the theatre. In 1970 he became New York's first commissioner of cultural affairs.
